Upon arrival our 'athletes' signed in at the rego table and received an Olympic passport, jumbo sized name stickers and a bandana in their team colour. Face painting and Olympic themed craft activities were also on offer!
The torch was 'carried' and Olympic cauldron was lit during our Opening Ceremony. The families were then sent off to compete in the different challenges: giant target toss, dangling donuts, mega ball roll, crazy croquet, balloon stomp, obstacle course, bubble snakes and pass the sand relay.
As our athletes competed in each activity, they were awarded special stickers to go in their passport. Once they had collected 8 stickers, they took their completed passports back to the rego table to receive a cookie medal and a participation ribbon!
After team photos with their prizes, everyone headed out to the front lawn area for some relay games and fun with the big parachute. The poor adults had to hold on tightly to the parachute so that it didn't blow away in the strong winds!
Our time together finished back in the hall with our Closing Ceremony, followed by a delicious afternoon tea and lolly scramble.
