FIRST EVER Messy Church!
Join us on Sunday 22nd May 2011 for our first ever Messy Church! Our theme for the night is the "Prodigal Son". All are welcome! :)
The fun kicks off at 4:30pm and finishes with a shared family dinner.
Messy...because it describes each one of us! No-one is perfect and each of us lead messy lives for many reasons.
Messy...implies doing messy activities! While there will be messy craft, these are entirely optional and there will be plenty of things to do that don't involve getting dirty.
Messy...because our program, though based each time on a theme, is not watertight! There is room for spontaneity & flexibility as activity times will be 'rubbery'.
A typical program will look like this:
4:30pm = CHILL TIME Registration & welcome activities
4:45pm = CREATIVE TIME Activity stations set up around the hall e.g. craft, cooking, games
5:30pm = CLEAN-UP TIME A quick tidy up of the hall to get it ready for dinner
5:40pm = TOGETHER TIME Learning about God in the church
6:00pm = CHEWING TIME Eating dinner together as families
6:30pm = HOME TIME!
IS THERE A COST?
It is a FREE event for all ages, however donations are encouraged to help cover cost of food/craft materials (suggested donation = $5/person or $10/family, gold coin for pensioners).
Please note: all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult who must stay throughout the whole event. You may choose to get involved with the craft activities with your child/ren or chat with other parents.
The fun kicks off at 4:30pm and finishes with a shared family dinner.
WHAT IS MESSY CHURCH?
Messy Church is a new way of 'doing' Church for today's generation. It is an opportunity for the whole family to spend quality time together on a Sunday afternoon - chilling, creating, celebrating & chomping! Messy Church is meant to be relaxed and informal.Messy...because it describes each one of us! No-one is perfect and each of us lead messy lives for many reasons.

WHAT HAPPENS AT MESSY CHURCH?
Messy Church starts off in the hall with a wide range of fun (and messy!) activities including cooking, craft, games and free play. We then head into the church for 'Together Time' where we learn about God through stories, songs, videos, puppets and drama. We finish back in the hall with a meal together - no need to feed hungry kids when you get home!A typical program will look like this:

DO I NEED TO BOOK OR R.S.V.P.?
You are more than welcome to just turn up on the afternoon... however it would be great to know if you are coming to help us with catering (especially with allergies). Follow the R.S.V.P. link on the website and fill out the form. Please note: all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult who must stay throughout the whole event. You may choose to get involved with the craft activities with your child/ren or chat with other parents.
WHERE IS MESSY CHURCH HELD?
