"Christmas in Australia on a scorching Summer's day..."
Here is the first batch of photos from our
Messy Christmas event held on
16th December 2012 at Dapto Uniting Church.
Due to the extreme heat (a first for the Messy Church team) we had to move all of our activities inside. Luckily we have air conditioning in the hall!
Activities on offer included face painting, a sensory table, sticky box art installation, mini wooden mangers, Christmas tree cones, melting snowman cookies, badge making, chocolate donkey poo, milk ring ornaments, collage ornaments, playdough, Christmas crackers and tinsel wreaths. Outside on the (hot!) verandah was chalk board drawing and our target toss game.
Our quiet corner offered a Nativity felt board, books, finger puppets, floor puzzle, felt Christmas tree, and a knitted nativity set.
Our photo booth was a real hit, with families enjoying the Nativity costumes and props.
During our Celebration time in the church we sung some carols, learned about the Nativity story and watched some
Our time together finished with a Christmas feast in the hall with meat, bread and salad, fruit platters and lots of yummy treats for dessert!
Messy Church will return on Sunday 24th February for a special Noah's Ark theme. More details soon...
