Gummy Lolly Recipe!

The gummy 'tools' were so popular at Messy Church that we ran out of time for everyone to make them! A number of parents asked for the recipe so here it is for you to try at home yourselves:

 YOU WILL NEED:
  • 1 x packet jelly crystals (any flavour but we used lime and raspberry at Messy Church)
  • 5 tablespoons gelatine
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • splash of flavouring (we used lime and raspberry cordial)
  • saucepan
  • wooden spoon
  • cooking spray oil
  • paper towel
  • plastic chocolate or silicon ice molds (this mixture makes enough to fill 2 molds)

INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Mix jelly crystals and gelatine together in a saucepan with wooden spoon.
  • Add water and cordial to the saucepan then stir.
  • Leave mixture to rest for about 5 minutes. It should look a bit like playdough.
  • Warm mixture over a LOW heat until it melts. Stir to remove any lumps.
  • Give your molds a LIGHT spray with cooking oil and wipe out excess with paper towel. (The oil will help you remove the lollies later)
  • Spoon the mixture into the molds.
  • Place in the freezer for 10-15 minutes to harden.
  • Remove from molds and eat. Yum!!

P.S. Photos from Sunday's Messy Church will be online very soon! (+ the recipe/templates for the gingerbread houses so you can try at home)
